Changing Dreamweaver Font Definitions

According to the new WSU Web site guidelines, the proper fonts to use in the primary content zone of WSU Web pages are: "Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, Sans Serif." The problem is, the Dreamweaver font list does not contain a selection for this series of fonts.

Not to despair; it is easy to change the font list. First, make sure your Properties inspector is open (Ctrl+F3 or Windows, Properties). From the font list, select "Edit Font List" (see below).

Edit your font list

You should be able to immediately add fonts to a new list. You can select your system fonts from the "Available Fonts" list and add them with the lesser-than carats (<<) to the left. If you need to add a font that is not on the list, type the name into the text field below, and then add. You may want to eliminate any other sans serif font lists by selecting the list(s) in the Font List field and clicking the minus button at the top left.

Select fonts in your font list

When you are finished, click OK, and viola, you have a new font list that you can select from your Properties inspector. You can also use the above dialog box to eliminate font items from your list.
