Macromedia
Dreamweaver MX 2004: Website Development
Disclaimer: I did not take the complete course.
I presume much of the material in this course overlaps that
in Macromedia Dreamweaver MX: Foundation I and
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX: Foundation II.
If this course significantly updates overlapping materials in the
above courses, let me know. At any rate, even if you take this course,
you might want to look at
the
above
two
courses for information not covered here.
I have chosen to concentrate on the Templates and Server Side
Includes under the "Reusing Content in Dreamweaver MX 2004" section.
The previous trainings did not cover this material.
Templates: Some features covered are probably
special-use, such as optional editable regions and repeating
regions.
Trainees
may want to pay particular attention to, and get extra practice
with, the use of some of the more basic features, like editable
regions and
the
update
of
pages
based
on
templates.
Server Side Includes (SSI): This can be a very
useful technology, although some Web servers
do not
have Server Side Includes enabled. Before trying to use SSI, check
with your Systems Administrator to be sure you can use SSI on your
Web site. You are expected to have some ability to edit
HTML code when using SSI.
